About My Clients
Does it seem like you are stuck on repeat? Are you regularly having the same frustrating interactions with friends and loved ones? Are you weighed down by lingering feelings of overwhelm or anxiety? I specialize in working with women, parents, and teens from a variety of backgrounds who are navigating: the effects of past trauma, relationships, work/school/life balance, and stress, anxiety, and depression.
My Background and Approach
I'm passionate about the mind-body connection and integrate principles from somatic therapy, parts work, dialectical behavior therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy to support meaningful and lasting change. By learning to hear your inner voice, feel connected to your whole self, and pause the racing thoughts that keep you spiraling, you can begin to heal. After over a dozen years working with adolescents, parents and educators I have found that folks often struggle to connect to their own truths. This impacts their ability to relate to others and understand their own experiences and needs. It can lead to shutting people out, numbing intense feelings, avoiding responsibilities/connection and feeling stuck. I work with folks on finding and listening to their own inner voice so they can be more present in the day to day.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work to see folks within the full context of their experience, taking into account the way systems marginalize individuals in the LGBTQ, Black, and Latinx communities. Staying rooted in social justice and trauma informed practices is infinitely important as we are interconnected people who both live and heal in community. I strive to create an inclusive environment where you feel seen and valued, regardless of your background. I am committed to anti-oppressive practices and this informs everything I do, allowing me to honor the diverse experiences of each person I walk alongside. Social justice and trauma-informed care is at the forefront of my work.
