About My Clients

I provide affirming therapy services for queer, trans, chronically ill, and disabled people. I currently work with adults and teenagers. Many of my clients are processing sociopolitical stress. They often identify as activists, organizers, educators, artists, and healers. I welcome LGBTQIA+ folks who are building community and challenging traditional structures. Additionally, I invite people who would like extra support around interfacing with the medical system.

My Background and Approach

I found my way to this career path after recovering from an unexpected musculoskeletal trauma in my early twenties. This process involved three years of bed rest and a significant amount of uncertainty. During this chapter, I learned how to sit with pain. I also learned that grief and joy could coexist. Now I identify as a dynamically disabled person. While I'm appreciative for some of my formal training as a therapist, I believe that my lived experiences have more profoundly prepared me to hold space for others. I'm currently focused on supporting folks in a private practice setting. I have previously worked at multiple community mental health clinics and a pediatric hospital. After many years in the field, I've embraced an approach that is rooted in liberation psychology and trauma-informed care. My style is relatively interactive and I always prioritize building sincere relationships. If we decide to work together, you can expect to have another advocate on your team.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I’m committed to intersectional equity and collective liberation. I believe in land back, reparations, reproductive justice, disability pride, trans joy, health at every size, covid consciousness, and community care. I’m interested in decolonizing the mental health industrial complex and also recognize that this is a complicated pursuit within our broken capitalist system. As a clinician, I’m not okay with medical gaslighting, gatekeeping, policing, or upholding ideals that are rooted in white supremacy and cisheteropatriarchy. I will honor the protective strategies that you have used to navigate oppression so far. I will also offer additional coping skills, collaboration, guidance, and resources. To cultivate safety and authenticity in our relationship, I share my specific social locations and values on my website. Please let me know if you have any questions!
