About My Clients
My clients are often seeking support for grief, anxiety, old traumas, life transitions, aging, and existential questions. I work with people who want to look more closely at what’s happening in their lives, where it comes from, and what they want to do with it. We can pay attention to what’s difficult without assuming that everything needs to be fixed. Sometimes the work is understanding what happened, what you’ve been carrying, what no longer fits, and what you want to do differently from here.
My Background and Approach
My approach is grounded in existential and relational therapy, which means I pay attention to the choices you’re making, the relationships you’re in, the questions you’re wrestling with, and the things that have been left unresolved. I approach therapy as a place to slow down and take a closer look at what’s happening in your life. Grief, anxiety, trauma, relationship patterns, identity questions, and life transitions rarely exist in isolation. They’re connected to our histories, our relationships, and the ways we’ve learned to understand ourselves and the world around us. I’m not interested in quick fixes or simply managing symptoms. I want to understand what’s underneath what brought you to therapy and how it continues to show up in your life. My style is active and collaborative. I won’t just sit back and nod while you do all the talking. I’ll ask questions, notice patterns, challenge you when it seems useful, and stay with you when the answers aren’t obvious.
Why I am a Good Fit for You
I believe we can’t always think our way out of the things that hurt. Sometimes we have to turn toward them—to understand what happened, what we’ve been carrying, and how it continues to shape the way we live. I believe people are capable of understanding themselves more fully, even when life is painful, uncertain, or not what they expected. Therapy isn’t about becoming a completely different person. It’s about getting to know yourself honestly enough to decide what you want to keep, what no longer fits, and what you want to do differently. I also believe that being human means living with things we can’t fix or change. We lose people. We get older. Relationships change. Plans fall apart. Some questions don’t have neat answers. Part of therapy is figuring out how you want to live with what is true. Telehealth available — serving Jefferson, New Orleans, River Ridge, and surrounding communities.
