About My Clients
My approach to therapy is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment, Narrative and Existential therapies, where we attempt to answer some of the big questions that come with significant life events and major changes - “How do I move forward?, Why did I have to go through this?, Who am I now?”. Clients often reach out about relational conflicts (family, partners, and friends), pregnancy and postpartum concerns, work related stress, childhood/familial traumas, or the passing of loved ones.
My Background and Approach
Life is unpredictable and brings us negative experiences. As a provider, therapy has taught me that it is possible to accept the negatives in a way that still allows us to feel emotion and take action toward making change. It’s a great privilege to be able to walk alongside my clients in this journey. At the beginning of therapy, we will work to build a foundation of trust by getting to know one another, and develop some initial short-term goals by establishing basic coping skills. From there, you will continue to build insight around unresolved issues, learn how to face past and present challenges, and find meaning in your lived experiences. You will become more confident in your problem solving, accountability, emotional resilience, and sense of self!
