About My Clients
Perhaps you are seeking greater self-understanding and purpose, hoping to change unhelpful patterns, or wanting to learn how to better manage the challenges in your life. Maybe you are seeking services for your child, who is struggling and could use some extra support. I enjoy supporting both youth and adults in exploring their thoughts and emotions, clarifying their values, and developing skills for personal growth.
My Background and Approach
My professional background primarily consists of supporting the development of youth and college students in educational, non-profit, and mental health settings. I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English. My experience in listening to people's stories and facilitating learning/growth informs my counseling practice with all age groups. My approach primarily integrates Cognitive-Behavioral and Person-Centered theories, and I draw from Expressive Arts, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused, Narrative, and ACT. I also aspire to provide culturally affirming care and welcome clients to discuss how social identities (i.e. sexual orientation, gender, religion/spirituality, race/ethnicity, (dis)ability, etc.) may relate to counseling goals, if they so choose.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe humans need Connection/Belonging and Purpose/Meaning. I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. I believe that struggles and challenges are normal. You are not weird or weak for seeking support.
