About My Clients
Are you feeling disconnected from yourself or others? Maybe you notice yourself overthinking, freezing up, or being uncomfortable in your skin? Perhaps you hold it together pretty well on the surface. Others may never know just how hard you work just to maintain a sense of worthiness. You want to connect deeply with yourself and others. To release the shame that has held you back. You are ready to be free from old patterns and embrace a future full of presence and authenticity.
My Background and Approach
Our sessions will be an accepting, empowering space where you can heal in the way that best fits you. As your therapist, I will meet you with compassion, amplify your inner wisdom, challenge when needed, and take the time to build trust. We might explore parts work, meditation, yoga/somatic movement, expressive arts, and more. Overall, my approach is trauma sensitive, HAES-aligned, and neurodiversity affirming. I have an MSW from Boston College School of Social Work. I currently work under the supervision of Jocelyn St.Cyr, LICSW. I am also a yoga teacher (RYT-200) and attuned in Usui Reiki Level II.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a staff member at Healing Well Counseling, I am committed to training in trauma and ongoing learning in anti-oppressive approaches as I work with people with marginalized identities. To me, working anti-oppressively means practicing cultural humility and addressing the role of power in our lives and in the therapy space. Mental health symptoms are not personal failings; they are often valid and adaptive responses to social injustices. This may mean naming and addressing issues like classism, ableism, racism, weight stigma, heteronormativity, or gender oppression. Systems of oppression live within each of us. I commit to ongoing critical self-reflection, listening, learning, and accountability. I aim to ensure that you are free to be your fullest and most authentic self during sessions.
