About My Clients
Anxiety, anger, depression, racing thoughts, relationships problems, family problems, low self esteem; all things that are common struggles in life. It can be overwhelming, tiring and scary to have so much going on and not have the skills to make it better. One of the best parts of therapy is sharing your problems and not having to go at in alone, to have someone listen and understand. I look forward to taking some of the burden from you and teaching you new ways to cope!
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, I have been working with substance abuse disorders and chronic mental health issues since the beginning of my career, and most recently over the last 4 years began to facilitate couples therapy. I believe that key aspects of therapy are the willingness to change, to have difficult conversations and to be challenged. Deciding to go to therapy can provoke anxiety and there are often a lot of questions about what therapy is and what it can do. My goal is to make that process easier to go through, and to understand. Another key aspect of therapy is building a relationship. I strive to understand the unique needs of each individual and build a collaborative relationship. My goal is to help those I work with meet their goals by helping them build on their strengths in a caring, non-judgmental environment. For change to occur, resistance must occur. Therapy is about bringing changes to thinking, feelings and behaviors to better your life!
