About My Clients
Many teen girls and young women within the new generation and in the millennial era feel they have so much to live up to in terms of expectations, or that they struggle accepting their authentic self with all the societal messages and standards they feel they have to live up to. It can result in you feeling ongoing anxiety, a need to be perfect, or just feeling low self-esteem. I want you to find confidence and power in your authentic self, and develop tools with managing the stress of life.
My Background and Approach
The tools and resources I provide have been gained through experience helping people with low self-esteem, anxiety, and stress over the course of my career. My extensive experience with working with both adults and children have led me to expand into more in-depth therapy with overcoming past childhood life experiences that may reasonably hold you back when not confronted. My goal is to provide you with tools that will address you having control over your thoughts, develop alternate meaning regarding your life experiences, and exercises that can support in managing feelings of anxiety that include mindfulness tools. For the past 15 years, my focus has been helping people manage anxiety and overcome difficult life circumstances. I have attended trainings that have taught effective tools in which to build resiliency. I will address how the mind affects your emotions and behaviors, and also explore how certain life narratives can sustain your anxiety.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the human spirit has great capacity to heal when we develop more of an authentic relationship with it. In coping with life challenges or painful emotions, we may develop unhealthy coping habits within our life journey that may have contributed to losing connection with our authentic self. This often results in a disruption in the mind and body. I believe that you can develop ways in which to connect with yourself, grow a new perspective on your experiences, and replace old habits with new ones. This belief in transformative change has directly come from my experience and passion in working with both children and adults, and witnessing the impact of healing across the developmental lifespan. I do hold to the premise that healing from past difficult life experiences does at times call for revisiting and confronting its continual impact and presence within your life.
