About My Clients
I work with teens finding their footing, parents supporting them through it, and women navigating big transitions, from empty nest to caregiving to career shifts. Many of my clients seem to have it together from the outside. Underneath, they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or quietly exhausted from being the one everyone leans on. If that sounds like you, you're in the right place.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine and take a client-centered, humanistic approach. No cookie-cutter plan, just what's true for you, at your pace. With parents, I'm trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), giving you concrete tools to respond to your child's anxiety differently, not just more information you already have. In session, we slow down and look at the patterns underneath what's going on, not just the symptoms on the surface. That means real, lasting change, not a quick fix that stops working once life gets hard again. I'm also the parent of a non-binary trans young adult, and that lived experience shapes the affirming, compassionate care I provide to LGBTQ+ and gender-expansive youth and their families. I practice as a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, supervised by Terese Forster, LMFT, with proper oversight from an experienced clinician.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person, and every family, deserves a therapist who doesn't flinch at who they are. As the parent of a non-binary trans young adult, inclusion isn't an abstract value for me. It's something I live daily, and it shapes how I show up for every client who walks through my door. I hold a Master of Science in Gerontology, grounded in early work in assisted living and Alzheimer's residential care outside Baltimore, Maryland, and later in health policy in Washington, D.C. When my kids started needing me less, I saw room for a next chapter. Becoming a therapist let me return to what that earlier career had already shown me: I love helping people through hard transitions. Outside of clinical work, I've spent years volunteering with schools and community organizations, because I think showing up for the people around you matters as much as anything said in a session.
