About My Clients

You've got a lot going on, and lately it's becoming too much; your relationship is going through a transition, or your anxiety is increasing. Maybe you and your partner are experiencing higher levels of conflict or disconnect. Maybe you've experienced a loss or trauma and feel out of your element. Or maybe you feel unsatisfied with your life, despite having "everything" you want. Whatever brings you to therapy, you've got an engaged partner in working through it.

My Background and Approach

I'm trained in many types of therapy, and I'm happy to talk about them if you're a therapy nerd like me. My style is active, warm, and eclectic. I am trained in EMDR and am working towards certification, a multi-year process. I earned a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University in 2012. Prior to that, I worked as a teacher and in crisis response for survivors of sexual assault. For two years I worked at what is now North Marin Community Services in their family therapy clinic, and as a therapist in several middle schools. For a year and a half I was a staff therapist at The Spahr Center, serving Marin's LGBTQ and HIV+ populations. From 2017-2019 I worked at New Perspectives Center for Counseling. I've been in private practice since 2019 and absolutely love what I do.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My job as your therapist is to help you find the right resources, both in your community and within yourself, to help you experience the challenges of life in a way that ultimately empowers you and builds your innate resilience. As therapists go, I'm active and conversational. I'm not one to simply listen and nod. My style is direct and warm, and I love collaborating to help you get the results you're seeking. I'm curious, engaged, and enjoy exploring new ways of thinking and processing what's happening in your life. I'm open to feedback and delight in customizing your care. No two therapists are the same, and no two clients are the same. I'm not going to give you the same exact care I'd give someone else, so my style differs from person to person based on what they need most. Generally, I'm active and engaged and draw from a wide variety of modalities. If you feel like you'd work well with a therapist who is conversational, direct, and warm, I would love to hear from you.
