About My Clients
I work with adults and teens navigating eating disorders, body image concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions, with particular interests in eating disorders and religious trauma. I’m passionate about supporting those whose experiences of religious trauma are intertwined with their relationships with food and their bodies. With a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Divinity, I bring a unique perspective to this work. I’m also a committed LGBTQIA+ ally.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is relational and warm, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I believe that you are the expert in your own experience and story and I will trust your inherent wisdom. I seek to draw from Person-Centered, Existential, and Feminist approaches as well as Narrative therapy and Internal Family Systems theory. We may also incorporate Brainspotting in our work together. Additionally, I deeply value the wisdom of the body and the stories the body tells. We will practice recognizing and listening to somatic cues and the stories they tell. I also believe in the healing power of humor! I engage in eating disorder and body image work from a Health at Every Size approach and am currently working on my Inclusive Eating Disorder Specialist certification. Trauma work is guided by your pace and readiness after establishing a foundation of safety through resourcing and regulation. Ultimately, I will tailor my approach to your unique values and needs!
