Creative Art Therapist in New York, NY

About My Clients

I work with people navigating anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients are seeking clarity, growth, and a space where they can be fully themselves. Some are new to therapy; others are returning after past experiences that didn’t feel like the right fit. I meet each person where they are, offering warmth, curiosity, and collaboration as we work toward meaningful change. Most people see an improvement after a few months.

My Background and Approach

I hold a master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy from NYU and have been in practice for over 12 years. My career includes working at a mental health clinic in the Bronx, where I gained extensive experience using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), talk therapy, and psychoanalytic approaches. This diverse clinical background allows me to approach therapy from multiple angles, ensuring that each session is tailored to your specific needs and goals. My approach is rooted in a person-centered, collaborative model where we work together at your pace to create meaningful change. I integrate various therapeutic modalities, such as CBT for practical problem-solving, psychoanalytic techniques for deep self-understanding, and creative arts methods to foster expression and insight. I believe in the power of self-discovery and support you in finding your own answers, while providing the guidance and tools needed for growth.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a single parent, I understand the challenges of balancing responsibilities and the emotional weight of life’s complexities. My personal and professional experiences have shaped my approach to therapy, where empathy and respect for each individual’s journey are central to the work I do. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with many LGBTQ clients, offering support in a safe, affirming space. I spent seven years working at a mental health clinic in the Bronx, where I supported clients who were homeless, struggled with addiction, and navigated the struggles of their families. This work opened my eyes to a world I knew very little about but which profoundly changed me. It not only made me a more compassionate therapist but also a better person. The resilience I witnessed in my clients is a constant reminder of the strength and capacity for change within us all.
