About My Clients
Tulip Tree Pediatric Counseling, LLC is meant to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic setting for you and those you care deeply about. We firmly believe healing comes when we feel secure, known, and seen. We focus on helping children and adolescents ages 5-18 and those who support them.
My Background and Approach
I hold an M.ED in education and an MS in school counseling. I spent 30 years working with kids of all ages as an educator, school counselor, and leader. I have had extensive training and experience in anxiety, behavior, anger management, attachment concerns, trauma and crisis, neuroscience, and working with the interpersonal struggles youth experience. I am trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy(TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I hold a certificate in Child-Centered Play Therapy and am a Nationally Certified Counselor. Currently, I am a Professional Counselor Associate with the state of Oregon and am supervised by Crystal D. Hatton, MA, LPC, NCC, ACS (Oregon License #C6821).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In helping children and adolescents, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Understanding their needs, stories, and concerns allows me to tailor interventions that meet the concerns of my clients and those who support them. I have seen that this is the unique and beautiful work that brings hope, help, and healing to children and families.
