About My Clients
My clients tell me that they are feeling exhausted, crabby, overwhelmed, distant from what matters and stuck in looping thoughts. Whether they worry about health concerns, something bad happening to a loved one, having an embarrassing social interaction or a panic attack... worry is usually a big part of the work. My most successful clients come to me wanting to work hard on their anxiety so that they can go live the life they know is passing them by.
My Background and Approach
My approach to anxiety is based in CBT, ACT and ERP - meaning that I will help you work through your thoughts, change your behaviors, approach the very things you've had to avoid and help you define a life that aligns with your values, and not with what your anxiety wants you to do! I very often include exposure-based approaches (ERP), whether that's working through worries in a deep and systematic way, or helping you to face panic or social anxiety sensations. Exposure is the *key* to most forms of anxiety. I spend time in every session discussing how the content we just discussed can be applied in real life.
