About My Clients
There are many barriers to creating meaningful change in our lives. It can feel difficult and overwhelming to identify what keeps us stuck. We may find it challenging to acknowledge our own limitations, accept our emotions, and build on our strengths. My goal is to join you in exploring your values and creating action steps towards a more fulfilling life.
My Background and Approach
Much of my 17 years of clinical experience has been working in higher level of care treatment centers for Eating Disorders, including partial hospitalization programs (PHP), Intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient programs (OP). In these settings I led experiential and educational groups for ACT, DBT, ERP, Mindfulness, Exercise Experiential, and conducted individual, group, and family therapy. I am committed to continual learning and unlearning in order to best honor and support individuals unique intersections and lived experiences. In addition to food and body issues, I support a variety of folks with concerns including: compulsive or avoidant relationships with exercise and movement, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship issues, perfectionism, loneliness, and more. My approach to therapy is rooted firmly in weight inclusivity and Health at Every Size® Principles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As the youngest of three siblings, I had a lot of time to observe the cause and effect of human behavior in my family system. I invested a lot of energy into being “a chameleon”, shape-shifting and trying not to have needs because I thought that would help me get what I wanted. And although parts of me believe that worked out in some ways, I also noticed losing connection to myself, my emotions, and my sense of self. So, in an effort to make sense of all that, I pursued psychology. Now, I invite people into reflection on their own stories, and new chapters in life they hope to write.
