About My Clients
Most clients I see are seeking help for anxiety, previous trauma, depression, or grief. I also enjoy working with teens and families to improve communication and understanding, as well as parenting guidance for parents of children of all ages.
My Background and Approach
My counseling style is centered on my clients’ individual needs. I provide a warm and comforting environment to establish trust and rapport with each person I work with. I empower clients to have control over the counseling experience and encourage them to identify their goals early on so we can measure progress together. I enjoy helping clients to see themselves in a different light and make changes to lead a more happy, purposeful life. My experience as a therapist includes working with individuals with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflict, and parenting. I am also experienced in helping individuals recover from previous trauma. I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and EMDR the most in my practice with adults.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all shaped and formed by our childhood and past experiences. This can lead to healthy behaviors, but also unhealthy coping. My personal desire is to help the clients I work with to see the value in evaluating how they see the world, themselves, and others. Fair warning, self-awareness can be a bit painful, but it can lead to beautiful changes. I am a person who loves first and assumes the best in everyone. I offer a judgment-free atmosphere and want clients to feel safe and comfortable in every interaction. If you think we might be a good fit, reach out to me and we can chat.
