About My Clients
Feeling overwhelmed with daily tasks, but don’t know where to start? With me you will find a supportive sounding board, regain your confidence, and with guidance, identify the tools within to heal! I use an eclectic therapeutic approach, empowering others to make positive change in their lives. My current client groups include high school students, transitional age young adults, parents of young children, and adults of all backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
I am trauma informed and currently a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) who helps clients safely regulate their emotions, identify negative thinking and use tools to zoom out and apply a new perspective. I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, general mental health, special education advocacy, positive parenting, and clinical supervision towards licensure. I have expertise and experience working with clients with learning disabilities and hearing loss. I use an eclectic approach including DBT and mindfulness. In sessions you can expect a warm, judgment free space to come as you are. Everything is figureoutable! You are worthy and have the tools and capability to heal. You are in the driver’s seat. I promise to use my expertise and knowledge as a lens to help guide you towards achieving your very attainable goals. Together as a team we will never give up and come up with a plan.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I previously worked as a special education teacher PreK-12 where I learned how to work with students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. I became an expert collaborator and consultant with school staff and families. I specialized as a teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, working with individuals one on one, and quickly learned I enjoyed building rapport and connecting people to resources. One of my passions is working with clients, friends, and family on positive parenting approaches. I discovered Love & Logic and have used it successfully with my own children. I loved running a teen center on a high school campus, organizing school wide events, and coordinating services. Becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker has been one of my proudest accomplishments.
