About My Clients
Laura provides therapy for children and adolescents, ages 0–18, and also welcomes individuals across the lifespan. She integrates a person-in-environment framework, recognizing the ways that settings and relationships affect how we move through life and shape our sense of self. She is committed to making therapy approachable and accessible for all.
My Background and Approach
Laura is informed by evidence-based practices such as play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) while integrating humanistic principles. Laura also has a special interest in helping individuals of all ages navigate the challenges of screen overuse in today’s digital world. Guided by trauma-informed care, Laura provides a steady and patient presence, honoring the time it takes for trust to develop. At the heart of her practice, Laura’s therapy is a place to nurture imagination, creativity and connection. Laura encourages clients to learn from mistakes, grow through challenges, and discover their own active role in life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Laura is a pre-licensed clinical social worker with a previous career in restaurant management. This experience provides her with the opportunity to understand that people are struggling and do not often have the privilege of getting the support they need. Laura would like to open up her practice to anyone struggling with work or school stress, parenting struggles, or feeling like they need help climbing out of unsupportive life choices and patterns. She believes that finding a childlike imagination inside of ourselves and connecting with our creativity can help to unlock our ability to strengthen the other areas in our live. She helps to take any area of life that may feel out of control, and gain that sense of control to actively participate in how we are affected by our environment and life.
