About My Clients
In the time that I have practiced psychotherapy, what my clients want, above all else, is to feel relief - relief from anxiety, emptiness, or feelings of worthlessness. They want to break free from the endless cycles of pain in relationships, or from the debilitating fear of rejection amongst family and friends. I work with individuals and couples struggling with relationship issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, burnout, and the effects of trauma/PTSD, particularly intergenerational
My Background and Approach
I strive to offer a warm, containing space where both difficult and expansive feelings can be safely explored without judgment. My approach is strength-based and resilience-oriented. I use an integration of modalities including Psychodynamic therapy, Attachment work and Brainspotting, a brain/body-based therapy that addresses trauma. Connecting to the body is an important part of the work I do, utilizing physical sensations to support safety, expansiveness, and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the therapeutic relationship is a vital part of healing, and it's got to be the right match. I strive to show up authentically and truly connect. I use humor, creativity, and maybe even 'colorful language' if that is what's happening genuinely. I don't give advice, but I do reflect back what I'm hearing and feeling. I challenge my clients to dig deep but I will also meet you were you are and collaborate with you to promote the safest exploration of self.
