About My Clients
Do you wonder, "Is this just my life?", or think "I guess I will just deal with it, I'm fine" - even though you aren't "fine" and aren't sure where to start? Are you more irritable with those you care about, or find yourself up at night trying to fix or change things out of your control? These, and many other scenarios, are things I would love to talk through with you in a judgement-free, supportive and strength-based environment. Together we can take steps to improving your life.
My Background and Approach
I believe we all are unique individuals and I focus on your strengths to build upon these in treatment. I enjoy working with children, teens, young adults, and older adults. I have many approaches I utilize in therapy, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered therapy, and Strength-Based interventions. I also approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been helping children, teenagers, and adults for over 25 years. My primary areas of specialization are anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem and coping, and ADHD. I believe we all are doing the best we can every day. I provide an open, supportive, non-judgmental environment for you to be your authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are always learning and have the capacity for change. We all have mental health, just like we all have physical health. Improving our mental health is just as important, if not more important, than our physical health. A lot of us have patterns of behavior that we learned from others. These patterns may be helpful or harmful. The great thing is, we can change these patterns and take charge of our own lives. I always have hope and I always work with compassion and sometimes a little humor. I also believe we all need to have things in our lives we truly enjoy, and if you feel you are lacking in this, we will work together to find more joy.
