About My Clients
Are you going through a major change in your life? Divorce, remarriage, blending a family, new job, new baby? Have you hit a road block in your career? Is anxiety keeping you from living an enriching lifestyle? Do you have a difficult to manage child? I can help you with these sudden roadblocks. I use EMDR, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in working with adult clients and play therapy with my child clients. I act as an advocate, sounding board and gentle challenger.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and nationally certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc (NCC) to provide mental health counseling. I graduated from Alfred University in NY receiving my B.A. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology. I obtained MY M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology from Towson University, MD. I have extensive training and experience in treating child and adolescent behavior concerns. I have over 15 years of experience working with families, using a strengths-based approach. I am a Registered Play Therapy-Supervisor (RPT-S) and use play therapy techniques with my child clients. I am also very passionate about perinatal mood disorders and have received training in this sub-field. I see new and returning mothers who struggle with Post-partum anxiety and depression. I work with couples to strengthen their relationships and offer divorce counseling and co-parenting to those who are considering divorce or have made the decision to split.
