I will help you understand what trauma is and how it has impacted your body, brain, and ability to safely connect with others. We will begin by first creating physical and emotional safety as preparation for our work together. This sets the foundation for building trust in the process and with me as your guide throughout the process. Next, I'll help you understand how difficult emotions and experiences become trapped in the body (and brain) which shows up in your thought patterns and behaviors. You will learn to compassionately connect with the parts of yourself that feel helpless, numb or wounded. Together we will identify, explore and release emotions, thoughts, and sensations in the body that are connected to your trauma as a child, and heal them.
I will help you build the appropriate tools for coping to control the fear, worthlessness, anger and shame that has bound you as a result of your trauma history.
