My Background and Approach

You've come to the right place! I am a seasoned LCSW psychotherapist with 14 years of experience delivering evidenced-based psychotherapies to individuals with mental illness. I have expertise in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure, and Couples Therapy for PTSD. I’m Clinical Director at Nema Health, a telehealth practice that offers effective and research-backed care for trauma survivors. We currently offer Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), the gold star treatment for PTSD that is endorsed by the National Center for PTSD. 90% of our patients experience clinically improvement in PTSD symptoms. During therapy sessions, you’ll work to understand how your trauma has impacted the way you think about yourself and the world. The goal is to identify the painful thoughts that keep you stuck and then develop a framework to examine and change those beliefs. CPT is a structured and time-limited therapy that will empower you to move forward.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I'm an African-American woman in her 40s with lived experience of the intersectionality between racism, poverty, and trauma. My triumph in working through my traumas and putting those painful events in my rearview is credited to the village that supports me and my own work in CPT to recover from PTSD. I spent many years believing that PTSD was permanent and untreatable. Now it is my mission to help as many people as possible recover from trauma using the highest-quality treatments for PTSD.
