About My Clients
For BIPOC people and LGBTQIA+ folks, finding a space to be their authentic and unique selves feels impossible. Those of us who have been "othered" live in a world full of oppression as well as hurt, pain and trauma. This oppression leads to depression, anxiety, image issues, substance abuse, risky behaviors and self harm.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working with depression, anxiety, life transitions, chronic health issues, and self-image issues using a variety of techniques including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy among other techniques based on the needs of the client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in empowering people to find their voice, to speak their truth and to find their place in this world. As a black gay man, I exist in many communities. I support equity for BIPOC people and LGBTQIA+ people including access to resources, ownership and elevation the history and contributions of these communities to the community at large.
