About My Clients
I am passionate about empowering women to approach challenges feeling confident and calm. The clients I typically see are young women in their 20s and 30s navigating challenges related to relationships, anxiety and stress management. I also work with teenage girls helping them navigate the unique challenges of adolescence and lend support to parents for how best to connect with their teenage daughter during this often emotionally turbulent time.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. I worked in a variety of community mental health settings, high schools and elementary schools before opening a private practice in 2013. My approach is client centered and adheres to an eclectic style drawing upon Narrative based practices with a blend of Somatic and Cognitive Behavioral therapy. No two people are alike and therefore it is important that the approach offered during sessions fits with each person’s individual nature. Sessions with me have been described as warm, supportive and interactive. The underlying goal of every session is to gain more control over challenges and to be able to respond to challenges in preferable ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We cannot control what happens to us. We can only control how we respond as we are constantly bombarded by choices, challenges and roadblocks at every turn in life. It can be helpful to have a safe and protected place from external pressures and influences to process, reflect, explore and decide on how we want to be interacting with our lives.
