About My Clients
I work with real everyday people who have found themselves in tough situations, abusive relationships, with individuals who want change. People who feel sadness and inadequate. Who appear happy to the world, but feel immense sadness and self conscious in secret.
My Background and Approach
In my past, I was a track and field student athlete at the University where I studied to become a mental health worker. I bring a determined mentality to tackle client challenges. Like an athlete I belive, If you want to feel and be a better version of yourself, you've got to practice, analysis and often reenact while in therapy. I welcome and set the stage for you to practice being the person you've always wanted. Providing sessions in which you have the opportunity to lead, be challenged and discuss what change looks like for you. My speciality is working with women experiencing relational problems, low self esteem, low motivation, depression and anxiety disorder. I work with ages 12-65 years of age and consider my approach to be eclectic, and sometimes CBT based, yet I draw from many different modalities at the same time. I prioritize building trust and mutual respect with my client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an advocate for mental health matters as it pertains to women, particularly minority women, a seen that minorities lack encouragement within thier families and social groups, to access mental health services, and as a result mental health issues go untreated or self prescribed which in my opinion, this impacts the overall quality of life among generations.
