About My Clients
I work with clients struggling around anxiety, self esteem and sex and sexuality. These challenges can all be lenses through which to better understand our core wounds and needs. In addition, by working in these realms, we can better our daily functioning, relationships, and general sense of wellbeing and internal peace. I work best with people wanting to get to know themselves better and those who are ready to grow and learn, with gentleness, compassion and an eagerness to change your life.
My Background and Approach
Therapy and the pursuit of self knowledge has transformed my inner world and my life, so I deeply believe in its capacity to change our realities. I came to this work after spending my twenties in the human rights field and my understanding and focus on the macro and systemic contexts has helped inform my therapeutic approach. I now center my approach on a mix of modalities, including ACT, somatic awareness, mindfulness, psychodynamic work and DBT. We are all so different, with different needs and ways of understanding, so I build unique treatment plans collaboratively with clients. The external world is undeniably difficult. It can be disturbing and isolating, so building safety within your mind and learning how to create healthy relationships as places of solace is urgent and sacred work. I am here to help and support as you build up that inner environment of compassion, awareness and clarity and expand those values into the world around you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about human rights, dignity and liberation for all. I come to each therapeutic dyad with curiosity and groundedness. I am not here to make assumptions about your lived experience, but to listen, deeply, to better understand and offer better care. I'm interested in mind-body connection, inner child work, sex-positive therapy and mindfulness practice. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
