About My Clients
My ideal client is motivated to change. My ideal client also takes the interventions and techniques that I share in treatment and utilizes them in their everyday lives. Populations served includes children/adolescents from ages 9 to 17, adults and couples. Our niche includes weight loss, stress management and self-care. However, we provide specialized mental health treatment including but not limited to treatment of mood and anxiety disorders.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinician Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate, with over fifteen years of experience in mental health and substance use. Experience includes not only therapy but crisis management, community mental health and inpatient psychiatric treatment. Healing Is Possible is a private practice that specializes in healing the mind, body and spirt, with our goal being improving quality of life. Our niche includes weight loss, stress management and self-care. We recognize that weight loss is more than just about food and that their are also psychological components to moving the scale. Healing Is Possible takes a collaborative approach to weight loss by targeting mental health, negative patterns in thinking, stress management and self-care. We also provide specialized mental health treatment including but not limited to treatment of mood and anxiety disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a person that has struggled with anxiety for most of my life, I am able to connect with my clients on a deeper level, sharing some experiences to assist them with normalizing mental health disorders. I like for my clients to know that I am not perfect and that we all have things in our lives that we have work on, no matter the degree or status. I believe that we are all capable of making changes in our life if we are willing to do the work. As a CBT therapist, I teach my clients to retrain their brains to become more disciplined in thinking and understand the significant role that thoughts play in how we feel and behave. I believe if you change the thought, you change the behavior, which can have a significant role in importing overall mental health, reducing stress, reducing symptoms, weight management and problem solving.
