“Annie with an L” - Korean American therapist for individuals & couples who feel stuck or disconnected.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Brea, CA

About My Clients

I work best with thoughtful adults and couples—often Asian American—who feel stuck, stressed, or disconnected. You might be navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, or repeating relationship patterns. Many are new to therapy and want a warm, non-intimidating place to start. I enjoy working with thoughtful individuals and couples who want a space that feels real, warm, and human. I love moments of honesty, humor, and connection!

My Background and Approach

I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist dually licensed in California and Massachusetts, offering virtual therapy during weekday business hours. I work with individuals and couples navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and the Gottman Method for couples, which means our work is both reflective and practical—helping you understand what’s underneath while also building tools you can use in daily life. As a Korean American therapist, I bring a culturally attuned lens to issues around identity, family dynamics, and unspoken expectations. Clients often share that they feel deeply seen in our work together and appreciate my thoughtful questions, strong memory for details, and collaborative style. Over time, many people feel clearer about what they need, more confident expressing themselves, and more grounded in their relationships and sense of self.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe therapy should feel human—warm, thoughtful, and real. I value curiosity over judgment, compassion over perfection, and connection over quick fixes. I care about creating spaces where people can show up as they are, with all their parts, and feel met with respect. I’m committed to creating a space where people of all identities and backgrounds feel safe. I also come from a Christian faith background, which has shaped my values around compassion, humility, and care for others. My faith is part of my story, not something I bring into the therapy room unless it is meaningful to you. As a Korean American therapist, I’m mindful of how culture, family, and identity shape the way we move through the world. I care about culturally responsive care and making therapy feel accessible—especially for people who are new to it. I’m drawn to moments of honesty, humor, and meaning—whether we’re talking about something heavy, something joyful, or something that matters in your everyday li
