About My Clients
I collaborate with people who are tired of being told to self-care their way out of structural problems. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, or in consensually non-monogamous relationships, carrying trauma, burnout, anxiety, or the weight of surviving systems never built for them. I also work with survivors of sexual assault, individually and in group. You won't have to educate me about your identity or defend your relationships before we get to work. You just get to show up.
My Background and Approach
I'm an LCSW and SIFI, founder of Inquire Within Therapy Services, with clinical experience in hospital and school-based settings. I've seen how systems help people and how they harm them, so I show up transparent, collaborative, and on your side. EMDR is the center of my work. It helps your brain finish processing experiences that got stuck, so the past stops running the present. I offer individual EMDR, EMDR intensives for deeper work in less time, and group EMDR, because isolation is one of trauma's favorite tools and community takes it away. I pair this with CBT for practical, here-and-now skills and polyvagal-informed work to help you befriend your nervous system instead of fighting it. I also provide gender-affirming documentation without the gatekeeping. You're the expert on your life. I bring the tools, the training, and an honest mirror. Expect directness, real skills, and the occasional laugh, because laughing at the absurd is its own form of resistance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing is personal and political. My work is rooted in liberation psychology and a materialist view of mental health: much of what gets labeled disorder is a reasonable response to unreasonable conditions. Burnout isn't a character flaw; it's a labor condition. Anxiety makes sense when rent, healthcare, and safety hinge on your productivity. Capitalism, white supremacy, and cisheteropatriarchy don't wait outside the therapy room, so I don't pretend they do. I believe care should be collective, not hierarchical. Therapy shouldn't turn structural harm into a private defect to fix. The goal isn't to make you a more efficient worker or a quieter patient. It's to help you feel freer, more connected, and more able to shape your life alongside others. I'm committed to affirming care for queer, trans, BIPOC, and CNM communities. Outside sessions, I climb mountains, DJ music, and game.
