About My Clients
As a counselor, I am rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy methods. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Through individual and couples therapy, I work with various types of struggles. Some of the individual issues I work with are: anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, trauma, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, mood disorders, and grief/loss. In working with couples, many of the issues are: betrayal/infidelity, broken trust, and communication difficulties.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I work with various mental health disorders. I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I use these two modalities daily in my practice, and help my client's not only learn skills, but we work together on how to implement these techniques into their daily life. I am trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy), as well as Gottman's Sound Relationship House, and find these two methods for marital/pre-marital counseling, quite essential. I oftentimes use techniques from both theories. I see many couples who find themselves in a rut in their relationship, and they seem to struggle with identifying what the issues are and secondly, how to work on these barriers that have developed. Lastly, I am trained in grief counseling, and find that my experience and training in how to deal with loss, has assisted me in helping client's work through complex grief.
