About My Clients
There are many times in our lives where we recognize that our behaviors and beliefs may not be serving our current life path. In fact, we may recognize that those behaviors we used to protect ourselves are holding us back from truly living the life we want and deserve. I primarily work with people who are living with challenges stemming from: perfectionism, stress management, anxiety, grief, loss, LGBTQIA2s+, chronic illness, and trauma.
My Background and Approach
Since there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, I find that the theoretical approaches I utilize are client-centered, strengths-based, intersectional, eclectic, and integrative. My training and work is grounded in the research and work of those with lived experience. I am a Queer Social Worker and therapist. I strive to be an ally & antiracist who is committed to ongoing professional training and self-study around showing up both personally and professionally to people who are: LGBTQIA2S+, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian and all those impacted by systemic forms of oppression. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growth is not linear—meaning that sometimes things will be really hard and feel really heavy, while other challenges feel more effortless to leave behind. My practice is a safe space where you can be yourself, find your voice, and share your story—No judgment, no shade, no tea. I view unlearning information that perpetuates systemic oppression and getting comfortable in being uncomfortable with checking my own biases and privilege as crucial elements of my personal and professional life. My work is identity-affirming and culturally-sensitive. I view allyship as a verb--an action requiring constant learning and unlearning, not a static, unchanging identity.
