About My Clients
I work with adolescents and adults who are willing to work hard and take risk in order to live the kind of life they want. All want to wake up every day feeling inspired and living true to their authentic selves. Many of my clients are at crossroads in their lives and have tried traditional talk therapy or self help techniques and have not had the success they would like. All of my clients want to have more joy and peace in their lives
My Background and Approach
I have worked in mental health since 2004. As a licensed psychiatrist and therapist, I have always been interested in empowering individuals to create long-term healing and give them the tools to create lasting well-being. To that end I have studied and practiced many modalities of mental health treatment. From prescription medication, to talk therapy to diet interventions, and all things in between. What I have found to be the most effective, and where I have chosen to focus my practice around, is helping clients build more self-knowing and trust so that they can be resilient and thrive in their own lives without the need for me or other external treatments. This is often achieved through some combination of talking, lifestyle interventions and mindfulness and movement-based practices. However, I always do a comprehensive assessment initially to determine what interventions would be most useful to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an optimist and believe that all humans have capacity for great change and long term well being. As a lover of nature, the cause I am most passionate about is climate change and preserving the environment. To that end I am involved with neighborhood programs to help reduce our carbon footprints and also an organization called "Mothers for Climate Change"
