About My Clients
I work with adults and young adults navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, identity, relationships, grief, and burnout. I have a particular interest in supporting women, veterans, and those exploring identity or sexuality later in life.
My Background and Approach
I bring more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and behavioral health, along with experience in leadership, employee assistance, military service, and life coaching. These experiences give me a broad perspective on stress, major life changes, workplace challenges, identity, relationships, and the many factors that can affect emotional well-being. My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and practical. I integrate CBT, attachment-informed therapy, parts work, and trauma-informed approaches based on your needs and goals. I also consider the mind-body connection and how sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, hormones, and daily routines may interact with mental health. I work with you to identify patterns, understand what may be contributing to current challenges, develop useful skills, and make changes that fit your life. Therapy does not have to feel rigid or overly clinical; there is room for honest conversation, reflection, and humor.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value creating a counseling space where clients can show up as themselves without feeling pressured to fit into a particular box. As a Black woman, military veteran, and longtime healthcare professional, I understand how culture, identity, life experiences, family expectations, and systems can shape the way we experience the world. I value inclusion, autonomy, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. My practice welcomes diverse racial and cultural identities, LGBTQ+ clients, veterans and military-connected communities, and people exploring sexuality or identity at any stage of adulthood. I respect that each person brings their own beliefs, values, experiences, and perspectives into counseling. For clients who prefer it, spirituality or faith can also be incorporated into our work in a way that reflects their own beliefs and values.
