During our initial sessions, we’ll focus on building rapport and trust, exploring your expectations, and collaboratively crafting a treatment an that aligns with your needs and values.
My Background and Approach
My journey to becoming a mental health provider was driven by a natural desire to serve my community and empower others with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Early on, I recognized the profound impact that mental health has on all aspects of life. Pursuing my degree in Social Work at the University of North Florida solidified my understanding of the complex factors that shape who we are and how we function—some of which are within our control and others that are not. I take a person-centered approach to therapy, which means that I truly listen to your unique experiences and work alongside you to set goals that are meaningful to you. What makes my practice unique is my holistic perspective. I’m trained to view each individual not just through the lens of their mental health struggles but as a whole person, considering all aspects of their life—emotional, social, and physical. This approach helps me to support you in a way that feels balanced and well-rounded.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity, but that with the right guidance and Christ on your side anything is possible. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. As a child, and even into my adult hood, my faith has always been a resource and driving force for facing some of life's biggest challenges. By bridging the gap between my mental and spiritual health, I experienced a new level of security within myself I didn't know was possible. I make it a point to participate in marches and community actions that support social activism, woman's rights and any other initiatives advocating for underserved communities. If you want to learn more about how I can help, shoot me a message.
