About My Clients
I view therapy as both an art and a science, integrating mindfulness, feminist, and evidence-based interventions into traditional psychotherapeutic approaches such as psychodynamic, CBT, and ACT modalities. My experience includes treating clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, identity conflicts, life transitions, family conflict, self-esteem, body image, oppression, and chronic illness.
My Background and Approach
I am a New York based LP-Mental Health Counselor with Avena Psychological Services. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the City College of New York, and her Master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Columbia University. My style is eclectic and modern—one that centers around humor and radical acceptance to ultimately restore a sense of joy, peace, and hope into your life. As a mixed-race Arab-American, I hold an importance in shining light upon intersectional identities. As an admirer of human strength and vulnerability, I work to help clients regulate their worries and emotional distress by honoring personal values and goals. My work is client-centered and approached collaboratively, working towards challenging areas in your life and building upon inner strength.
