Hello! I'm Lacey Stewart, LPCC. I focus on the intersections of trauma, sexuality, & identity. It is truly an honor to hear your story.
Counselor in Manhattan, KS
I use an attachment/feminist framework when working with PTSD. We will learn grounding exercises and calming techniques, explore how early childhood attachments set you up to be hurt in particular ways later on in life, and discuss how to manage active and re-emergent symptoms.
Using a deeply empathetic, feminist/social justice orientation, we will explore themes of identity wounding, societal/community rejection, safety and survival, and internalized bias. I have a plethora of resources to share and am committed to being a trusted witness.
Communication is important but I take this topic deeper by exploring relationship traumas and attachment issues. We will work on co-creating the relationship environment you most desire by using transparent communication, face value trust, relationship agreements, externalizing foundational values, and exploring old patterns. I will also walk you through showing up for a partner's trauma and I have lots of resources to share.
I completed EMDR training in 2016 and have been using the technique in my practice ever since. I have also completed workshops on special topics in EMDR and continue to grow my skills as often as possible.
