About My Clients

My therapy practice, Warrior Mental Health, is a virtual therapy service for kids and teens (ages 10–17) with diabetes. Managing diabetes is tough and often leads to stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness, we help kids build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and develop a healthier relationship with diabetes. Sessions start at 4 pm on weekdays to fit school schedules. You’re not alone—we’re here to help kids thrive.

My Background and Approach

Hi, I’m Lacee—a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and founder of Warrior Mental Health, a virtual therapy service for kids and teens with diabetes. With experience in emergency rooms and Endocrinology clinics, I’ve seen firsthand how challenging life with diabetes can be—not just medically, but emotionally. I created Warrior Mental Health to fill the gap in emotional support for these brave kids and their families. My approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. In sessions, I help children accept difficult emotions—like frustration or sadness—and observe their thoughts without judgment. We identify personal values and set realistic goals that build confidence and foster emotional resilience. Through personalized support, I empower kids to develop a healthier relationship with diabetes, manage stress, and feel strong, capable, and proud of who they are.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe every child with diabetes deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported—not just physically, but emotionally. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Warrior Mental Health, I’ve witnessed the emotional toll diabetes takes on kids and their families. I value compassion, connection, and empowerment. My approach combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness to help kids build resilience, align with their values, and foster self-confidence. I’m dedicated to bridging the gap between diabetes care and mental health by providing tools, support, and guidance that help children and families navigate this journey together with strength and hope.
