My Background and Approach
Dr. Xochitl Vallejos holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and Arizona, with over two decades of experience in clinical, academic, and community settings. She specializes in relational therapy that integrates trauma-informed care, attachment healing, relationship anarchy, decolonial and liberation psychology, somatics, and social justice. Working with individuals, couples, and polyamorous constellations, Dr. V brings a collaborative, affirming approach grounded in both clinical wisdom and lived experience. Her warm, grounded presence creates a safe, empowering space for clients navigating complex relational dynamics, healing from systemic harm, or seeking emotionally sustainable ways to love and connect.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing is both personal and political, and that relationships—like people—don’t need to fit inside systems that were never built for our freedom. My work is grounded in the belief that love can be a site of liberation, and that therapy should honor the whole self: body, story, culture, and spirit. I center care, consent, and courage in all I do, supporting clients in unlearning harmful norms, reclaiming their voice, and building relationships rooted in authenticity, accountability, and joy.
