About My Clients
My client's range from professionals that are struggling with time management, anxiety, and major stressors to young adults that are experiencing the turmoil of addiction. My history has included working with psychotic disorders, inpatient and outpatient addiction including harm reduction, and inpatient eating disorders. I work best with client's that are motivated to make a lasting change in their life. Don't know what that change looks like yet? Not a problem! Let's figure it out.
My Background and Approach
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English Literature and a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since completing my degrees, I have had the pleasure of experiencing a wide variety of clinical settings. My experiences range from day treatment for severely persistent mentally ill, community mental health working with court mandated clients, refugees, inpatient intensive eating disorder treatment, and addiction treatment. I am currently employed as a full-time addiction specialist, but love continuing to see a wide variety of people in my private practice. My specialties include: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, and stage of life events including relationships, marriages, divorces, starting new careers, and more.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a firm believer that we all have the capability to make the changes we want to see in our lives. Sometimes this means having someone there to challenge you, listen to you, and hold the space that you need to heal. I’m an open and challenging therapist that will tell you the things that you need to hear in order to grow. Simultaneously, I am nurturing and caring and able to gently guide you into the direction you want your life to move towards. I base my practice out of a blend of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Attachment Theory.
