About My Clients
I work with a variety of different people. The people that I work best with is those that enjoy having a therapist that is active during the session. I tend to ask a lot of curious questions and provide authentic feedback about what I am thinking.
My Background and Approach
Kyle McEvoy received his Master’s of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. He is pursuing his License in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC). Kyle’s interest in mental health began during high school, which grew when he was an undergraduate at Ball State University working with adolescents and families. Kyle continued his work when he moved back to New York at a nonprofit organization in Brooklyn. He has helped those overcome substance abuse issues, explore individual identity (LGBTQ), cope with psychological/cognitive/developmental disorders, accept medical diagnoses, overcome sexual abuse/intimate partner violence, and a variety of maladaptive behaviors. Kyle is trained in Mentalization-Based Treatment for adults and adolescents, Adaptive Mentalization-Based Integrative Treatment (AMBIT).
