For marriage counseling, I use the Gottman Method. I like using this method because it's one of the most empirically validated treatments for couple's counseling and it offers many practical exercises.

I highly enjoy researching and working with social anxiety. For this treatment, I often use many interventions from CBT to reduce these symptoms. I often encourage client's to not only challenge their maladaptive thoughts, but also to find opportunities to practice being social!

I like CBT because it's one of the most researched backed treatments there is for a multitude of disorders. It works on the idea that if you modify your negative thoughts and behaviors, your emotional distress will improve. I have taken coursework with the Beck Institute, who was started by Aaron T Beck, the creator of CBT.

John & Julie Gottman created one of the most empirically validated treatments for couple's counseling. I love utilizing their work because the exercises are practical and I almost always see my clients progress.
