About My Clients
My ideal clients are ready to make change, practice skills between sessions, dig deep, and improve their lives. Clients who work with me are committed to their wellbeing, take accountability for their mental health journey, and are vulnerable. Ready to learn some new coping skills? Want to make a career change but have no idea where to start? Thinking about unpacking a childhood event? Or just want a safe person to talk to week to week? I'm here for all of that!
My Background and Approach
I received my Bachelors of Arts from the University of Washington and my Masters of Arts from Antioch University Seattle. I am a licensed mental health therapist, registered yoga teacher, certified trauma specialist, and am certified in Lifespan Integration Therapy (a healing modality for complex PTSD). I am an Adlerian therapist which means that I bow to you as the expert of your life, navigating challenges and successes together. I utilize yoga, guided meditation, CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and even spiritual practices such as runes, oracle cards, or tarot cards to facilitate exploration and processing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe counseling is a long-term process between a clinician and their client. The therapeutic relationship is the strongest form of healing and it is my honor to walk alongside clients for years. Counseling is a collaborative process in which the clinician is learning just as much as the client and that humility keeps the relationship healthy and equal. I also believe that therapy is a place where joy and humor can exist alongside tears and struggles. Counseling rarely looks like how it's portrayed in the media!
