About My Clients
I work best with adults (40+) navigating the complexities of later life. My clients are often men facing the "strong and silent" stigma, or LGBTQ+ elders seeking a therapist who understands their generational history without needing it explained. Whether you are managing chronic illness, processing long-standing trauma, or seeking support for addiction, I provide a grounded space where your experience is respected. I am here to help you find clarity in your 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond.
My Background and Approach
With over six years of clinical experience, my approach is pragmatic, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I am EMDR certified, which allows us to move beyond traditional talk therapy to process deep-rooted trauma and PTSD symptoms effectively. I also lean heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. These tools help us identify and challenge the negative thought patterns that impact your emotions and behaviors. Whether you are dealing with difficult past experiences, current relationship conflicts, or concerns about the future, I aim to be a steady partner in your progress. My goal is to help you build confidence in adapting to change. We focus on your existing strengths while developing new ways to manage anxiety, anger, or interpersonal stress. I offer a direct and non-judgmental environment where we can work together to help you regain a sense of control and purpose.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that mental health care should be accessible, inclusive, and deeply respectful of the wisdom that comes with age. In my practice, I prioritize de-stigmatizing therapy for men and ensuring that LGBTQ+ seniors have a safe, competent space to heal. Having lived through the generational shifts within the LGBTQ+ community myself, I am committed to providing care that acknowledges the resilience required to navigate those changes. I believe it is never too late to address old wounds or to find a new sense of meaning in later life. I value transparency and accessibility in the therapeutic process. To ensure we are the right fit for one another, I offer free phone consultations prior to our first session. My practice is built on the belief that everyone deserves a therapist who "gets it"—someone who provides not just clinical expertise, but a genuine understanding of the unique path you’ve walked.
