About My Clients
I enjoy working with children and their parents. Oftentimes parents forget what it is like to be a child and I work with both the children and their parents to improve relationships, mental health, and how to be a kid again.
My Background and Approach
I am a Registered Play Therapist, adding that specialty to my license because of wanting to provide the best possible to the children I work with. I am so invested in play therapy work that I have been a board member for San Diego chapter for the California Association for Play Therapy. I take a child-centered non directive approach - which means that the kid leads the session because they are often not in control in other areas of their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in inclusion, equality, and the rights of those who have had them suppressed for so long. I identify as a feminist, a Latina, and an advocate for those whose voices have been trampled on. I speak Spanish and think it is important to know two or more languages. I am involved in Scouting (BSA and GSUSA) as my children are interested in those programs.
