About My Clients
My ideal clients are those individuals and couples in the LGBTQIA+ community that have trouble feeling understood by others. Musical, creative, artsy, neurodivergent, outside-the-box thinkers are my favorite! People who have had to look for their tribe and value acceptance, will find me a kindred spirit. We can focus on solutions, or go deep into metaphysics to figure out how to make sense of things in the world and how they impact our lives. This work has a special place in my heart.
My Background and Approach
My background has afforded me the opportunity to gain various kinds of experience. And because of that experience, I've picked up a lot of tricks of the trade, tools, skills and creative ideas that have worked well for hundreds of people that I've worked with over the last 11 years. Some of my experiences include years of the following: working with families in crisis, children with ADHD, teens with identity questions, college students with individuation difficulties, young adults struggling to build strong relationships and adults managing life changes. The tools that you gain while working with me will be specialized and tailored to your specific situation and personality. My goal is that you learn the skills to emotionally regulate yourself, manage your emotions and tap into your logic when you need to in order for you to be able to go through life confidently and be capable of handling whatever comes your way. I enjoy using creativity as well as a great deal of technology.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a big believer in compassion and kindness to everyone... all people and all animals. I'm an out lesbian since forever and I'm an involved and vocal advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, locally and nationally. Because I'm from a small southern town, I've seen despicable behavior and myself experienced a lot of discrimination, so I have also become an advocate for the Black Lives Matters movement and have sought to offer my support to the BIPOC community as well. As an Earth lover, I am a member of several organizations that advocate and organize to help improve people's interactions with our environment- the natural world and addressing climate change realities. I'm a very creative person and I love painting, photography and sculpture. I especially love working with wood and refinishing antique furniture. There are a million ways to do things and I enjoy learning all the ways to get to one goal, figuratively and literally. So, I love maps and always enjoy the journeys life brings.
