About My Clients
The torment of a codependent relationship, the despair of loneliness, the struggle with addiction, the prison of anxiety, can leave you feeling out of control and hopeless - but change is possible. The pain of your past does not have to control your present experience. If you’re struggling with codependency, boundaries, people-pleasing, addiction, loneliness, or trauma I offer a safe, judgment-free space to heal.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in WA and also hold a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) certification. Although I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches based on your needs, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is my main modality for therapy. ACT is an active form of therapy based in mindfulness and values work. You will learn skills to handle difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively so you can take the action needed to create a rich and meaningful life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe life is messy and we are all doing our best. Life can hand us some challenging situations and we adapt the best we can. Sometimes the adaptations that we learn to to get by earlier in life don't serve us any longer as adults. Instead we notice unhealthy behavior patterns that keep us from living the life we want, and we realize we need to change. I do believe change is possible. Through reconnecting to our authentic selves, our values, and the people closest to us we can create a life of meaning and purpose, and find freedom.
