About My Clients
My clients are trauma survivors who are looking for healing. Sometimes, relationships have been a mess, they feel out of control, and they just want shit to get better. They probably cuss too. They feel like they don't know who they are and struggle to answer, "What's your purpose in life?" After working through historical, and childhood trauma, many of our clients not only answer that question- but are living out the answer.
My Background and Approach
I have over 10 years of experience in mental health. I go to my own therapy, and have spent years processing and healing my own trauma. I focus on the effects of oppression, historical trauma, and childhood trauma in day to day life. I believe that many survivors are searching for the intimate space of a healing hug which seems simple to outsiders, but for a survivor is a much deeper and difficult intimacy to achieve. To reach out into the darkness and for someone to grab back, to accept you, to meet your soul in its depths... is the experience that every survivor longs for.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a feminist, and I stand against the patriarchy. I am in a mixed marriage, and I speak fluent spanish at home. I'm also as white as it comes, and have to check my own bias and tendency to oppress on a daily basis. I cuss. I am womb to the tomb, and believe in supporting people emotionally, physically, and mentally from the uterus to a natural death. I'm a practicing Catholic. As a practicing Catholic, I believe in speaking against injustice in and out of my faith. So yea, priests that molest kids- should go to jail where they belong. I don't see couples. I am a survivor of complex trauma- sexual abuse, rape, parental mental illness, bullying, neglect, etc, etc. And I believe therapy changed my life, and saved my life.
