About My Clients
Do you feel stuck? Do you find yourself repeating the same patterns of behavior, even when those behaviors are no longer serving you? Are you struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, or inadequacy? Are wounds from your past still affecting you today? I offer a space in which you can explore your inner life and learn new ways to cope with feelings of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and past traumas.
My Background and Approach
I draw heavily from cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and psychodynamic techniques, with an emphasis on both practical tools as well as attention to deeper wounds and emotions. I use an eclectic approach and also intertwine elements of other modalities into my work including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness & meditation techniques. I also am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can be a powerful adjunct to traditional talk therapy. I aim to help you gain insight into yourself and discover ways to tap into the inner well of resilience inside of you. I offer a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space to explore the issues you are struggling with and help you discover new ways of living a more well-balanced life. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Trained as a social worker, both my professional code of ethics and my own personal values emphasize the principles of service, social justice, and dignity and worth of all people. I keep these values at the front of mind in my work with clients and I'm grateful that my role as a psychotherapist allows me to live out these values on a daily basis.
