About My Clients
“If you are a dreamer, come in, If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer... If you're a pretender come sit by my fire For we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!” ― Shel Silverstein, Where the Sidewalk Ends
My Background and Approach
I have over ten years' experience working with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-harm, grief, and co-dependency. During my time working for Penny Lane Centers, I was on the task force for the EDGY (Embracing Diversity of GLBTQ Youth) Conference and have a passion working with LGBTQIA+ folks. I enjoy providing therapy for other therapists, particularly those working towards licensure. I especially love working with new moms and have a special place in my heart for women going through this emotional time. Your connection with a therapist is an important one. No single therapeutic approach is going to work for everyone, so our first session or two is going to focus primarily on identifying your needs and determining if we would be a good fit. Together we can create an individual treatment plan based on your personal goals, whether you're dealing with a specific issue, or you're simply burnt out from the recent Covid madness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Rebecca Solnit wrote, "We are our stories, stories that can be both prison and the crowbar to break open the door of that prison... Liberation is always in part a storytelling process: breaking stories, breaking silences, making new stories. A free person tells her own story." I would love to meet with you and help you heal and grow by telling yours.
